Surface lure with the towpoint in the upper end with a weight on the bottom, its position on the water is vertical with approximately ¼ of the body out of the water when jerking the rod. The action mimics a wounded fish agonizing on the surface.
Cast the Magic Stick to the desirable place, retrieve it jerking the rod. The Magic Stick will hit its head on the water like crazy. If needed, give it a stronger jerk, the Magic Stick will dive and with consecutives jerks it will keep itself submerged, making it easier to catch.
Conventional Action
There are times when the predator just follows the lure, making some swirls around. That happens when the predator is inactive and tries to kick out the outsider from its area. In this case, it's best to change the action of the Magic Stick because I is a special lure with a different balance and fast floating. On slack line, give some jerks with the rod tip. Quick action and slow retrieval.
The Magic Stick will be teasing all the time. Even in calm waters, the lead (weights) will be in action, making some noise. On each jerk, the semi V shaped mouth (exclusive of the Magic Stick) will make a pop and that inactive predator will strike the Magic Stick on anger.
